  • Led Synovus's Leadership and Talent Development function

  • Corporate Training Consultant at TSYS Global Payments, building global training programs across the U.S., U.K., and India

  • Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Georgia, and a graduate of Stonier Graduate School of Banking with a Wharton Leadership Certificate

Colby is married to Laura Cardin and is the proud father of two, Sarah Beth and Logan. Outside of work, he enjoys backpacking and camping, attending live concerts, and collecting Star Wars memorabilia.

Laura Cardin leads the Pastoral Institute, which has served the Columbus, Georgia community for nearly five decades with counseling and educational services for individuals, couples, children, and families.

Career Background

  • Began her career at the American Cancer Society in Chattanooga, Tennessee

  • Moved to the American Heart Association in Columbus, promoting heart disease awareness and prevention through events, programs, and partnerships

  • Worked in fundraising for Columbus State University and the Columbus Regional Health Foundation (now Piedmont Columbus Regional)

  • Joined the Pastoral Institute, serving as Director of Development, then Director of Operations, and now CEO/Executive Director

  • Ten years with the Pastoral Institute overall

  • Leads strategic partnerships that strengthen the Pastoral Institute's reach and impact across the community

  • Oversees the financial stewardship essential to sustaining the organization's mission

Laura is married to Colby Cardin and is the proud mother of two, Sarah Beth, an elementary school teacher, and Logan, a U.S. Army soldier. When she's not working, she loves gardening, cooking, spending time with friends, and traveling in search of great meals.
